Position Description
This position will coordinate boxed beef production operations for 4K Cattle company. 4K Cattle Company is a family company with ag roots in Montana dating back to 1901. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent meat (beef) industry knowledge. This individual will coordinate incoming loads of livestock, direct kill and fab operations and direct outgoing boxed beef flow. Our customers demand the highest quality product, and our senior operations manager must be able to provide this product on time and on budget.

Our team knows the intricacies and niche specialization of organic, natural and export livestock and meat. 4K's expertise is directly reflected in our quality boxed beef that is offered at a competitive market price.
Scope And Context
4K is a $60MM company that custom kills and processes 800-1200 head per week at four plants (one in Nebraska, two in Idaho, one in California). We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager with at least five years’ experience working in or managing beef kill and fabrication operations. Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of carcass fabrication, wholesale beef cuts, beef trim production and beef plant operations. This is a remote position with occasional travel required to production plants and warehouses. Management of operations assistant or assistants required. Will report directly to CEO daily.
Essential Accountabilities
Creating break sheets for multiple fabrication facilities
Ensuring livestock are delivered to desired spec
Inbound slaughter cattle management
Overseeing logistics of delivering boxed beef to customers in both domestic and international markets
Live cattle and boxed beef inventory management
Matching customer purchase orders with required cuts and qualities of beef
Intaking sales input to forecast upcoming demand expectations
Maintaining knowledge of key customers in all sales territories. Preparing and implementing a comprehensive business plan, ensuring sales goal attainment.
Communicate to CEO information regarding product quality, forecasting updates, ext.
Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) based on animal yields, cost of delivered goods analysis
Ensure processing plans adhere to standards of USDA organic, kosher, ext. practices
Required Experience and Skills
A minimum of 5 years relevant industry operational experience.
Attention to detail and comfort with complex operations are a must

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ideal candidate would live anywhere in the Central, Mountain or Pacific time zones.
Schedule is flexible but some weekend work will be required to keep company invoices flowing.

Compensation
