This is a 12-month, tenure-track position in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Duties will include research, outreach, and teaching with the primary focus on research in an area of meat science with emphasis on meat quality, carcass composition, product development, meat safety, and(or) postmortem processing methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent, extramurally-funded research program supporting the needs of Tennessee livestock producers and meat processors to maintain and market safe and healthy meat products. Development of strategies to increase livestock harvest capacity in the region is a priority.
