A Culinary Science Summer Intern will gain experience in product development and participate in the following activities.
Apply culinary arts experience in a research and development setting.
Receive valuable mentorship from research chefs and food scientists.
Assist chefs and food scientists in the development of new products, line extensions, or revisions of current products to improve product quality, profitability and/or competitiveness.
Work on a specific project assigned to the intern and conclude with a brief report and presentation on the results of the project.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members in marketing, sensory, nutrition, packaging, and ingredient suppliers.
Visit other Tyson facilities including plants and labs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Culinary Science, Culinology, and Culinary Arts majors preferred. Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited university/school and at junior, senior, or graduate level status required. Recent college graduates within 6 months of May 2025 will also be considered.
Experience: Culinary skills required. Must have experience working in a restaurant, hotel, food truck, or other foodservice setting.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills.
Special Skills: Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment.
