The Animal, Veterinary and Food Sciences department is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will lead a research program (45%) in applied and basic meat science, supported by extramural and industry funding, addressing emerging issues through innovative scholarship. Teaching responsibilities (50%) include undergraduate and graduate courses in meat and food science, with emphasis on live animal and carcass evaluation and additional courses as needed. The candidate will also mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduate researchers (5%).
